This bag is made using a traditional rug-making technique called hooky rag-rugging. Like many crafts, rag-rugging was originally born out of necessity, but today is about the pleasure of craft and the importance of recycling. It is a laborious process where thin strips of fabric are pulled up through a piece of hessian using a hook creating small loops. The outcome has the most wonderful texture and durability.
